Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island known as West Island. The West Island has a lot of diverse communities. Many who've never been aware of it frequently think it is a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is commonly called her birthplace. It is true that she was there for a brief period of time. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa, Ontario. When she was a child she wanted to be professional performer, however an unexpected expansion of her body made it impossible. She admitted in an article written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. When I grew out of male companions, that's when I gave up. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the case of Brugel, it was an urging by her drama teacher. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the annual school production. She was chosen to play the principal role for Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. After receiving the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she's appeared in 60 different productions including big screen productions as well as smaller screens. The most well-known role she played was the one of Rita (pictured below) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor in Season 1 which was viewed only occasionally.
